WE HAVE MOVED…

We are now called JDM-Soul and you can find us @ JDM-Soul.com.
It’s a new name and the blog should be mildly improved but no promises :)

Japfest 2 – 2010 – The Jassics

Just found a few pics of classics from Japfest 2 last year. I’m serious loving the S30s, Hakosukas and other Jap classics that have been popping up recently. Unfortunately can’t make it to Castle Combe today but look forward to seeing everyones photos and the videos from Japfest.

Cov*ntry Tran*port Museum – Slag1 photo

Just a random photo taken when I did some filming in Coventry Centre, as you can see the popular tourist attraction, the Coventry Transport Museum, lies in the back ground. It’s in need of some attention though which is about right for Coventry in general!! Anyway I’m re-designing web-sites and things at the moment, so I won’t be doing anything exciting, might not even make it Japfest on Saturday, we’ll see what happens.

VAG vs JDM Part2

Just some stills from the video footage from Sundays event in Nottingham, not all exact shots will be in the video but the cars will. It should be up over the next few days…

VAG vs JDM @ MFN hosted by Streetrace.co.uk

Took a trip to Nottingham for the VAG vs JDM event, was about an hour each way which is quite far for me to go in my car, but it was worth it. Weather was nice if a bit windy, got a few photos but my focus was getting plenty of video footage, hopefully that will be ready next week sometime. I might go through the footage, see if there are any decent shots to be had and grab some stills, cos there are a few cars that I got video of but no photos.

Cars were still arriving as I was leaving but couldn’t stay as I had to work. Great job by Streetrace but in my haste I forgot to take a photo of their banner, I’m such a rookie!

The Mammoth Burger

This so called “Mammoth Burger” was consumed with ease by me at the American diner near by us. They need to step their game up, 4 patties of beef with cheese, onions and gherkins. Tasty yes, a challenge, no. I taunted them a bit after finishing it which they didn’t like!!!

West Mids Impreza @ Prodrive 24/04/11

Took a trip to Prodrive for the monthly WMI meet, a great location for a meet. I hadn’t been before so was looking forward to it. Tried out the Bullet HD on the way there, stuck it to the roof and took off but just my luck didn’t see a single Scoob or car of note on the way!?! Thankfully there was a good turn out with 49 Imprezas rolling up and as always a great family friendly atmosphere and the sun came out for a bit too.

More Special Deliveries…Bulletcam HD

Got the new evo today, it’s the Turbo issue showing the love for those special Turbo cars through the ages, including the newish Noble M600 which is just epic, I have serious love for that machine. Also got a Bulllet HD cam from Dogcam, a late birthday present from my bro, it’s charging as I write this, can’t wait to try it out!!!!

Retro Toyota Gathering 23/04/11

Would have liked to go to this meet, car porn potential is off the scale so looking forward to seeing the snaps! I’m shooting at the West Midlands Impreza meet @ Prodrive if all goes to plan, and this weather better stay nice. Got to get the car washed!!!

Japan, a month on…

It’s been a month since the first Earthquake and things in Japan are on the mend, with temporary housing going up, people are attempting to return to normal routines and to work, they are still trying to conserve energy whilst work continues on the Nuclear plants and reconstruction projects are underway. As you may or may not know Cherry Blossoms (or Sakura) are a big deal in Japan, with a Festivals this time of year to see the blossoms in full bloom. While some were advising that people in Japan should show restraint in respect for the disasters of the last month, I think it’s a good time to enjoy the company of friends and view the natural beauty of a country which needs its spirits lifted.
Strangely fitting that a month on some of the trees are in full bloom, not that we should forget or stop helping and giving but the people need to see signs of hope and inspiration to help them get on with their lives.

Here are some great photos from Dave @

ShootTokyo

and a rubbish (but relevant) one from me.

Same post as on Corrupt Industries, have to show the love everywhere I can!

Special Deliveries

Like I said I’ve been ordering off eBay and found a few deals, I’ve also found a few other random things online from the states. It’s always a bit more special when you have to wait for deliveries from abroad. Got these delivered yesterday, number plate surround for rear and DVD documentary of a Japanese photographer called Yone, should be good! Got ye Ol’ Import Tuner as well haven’t hd a chance to look at that yet, and still waiting on my Hope For Japan sticker from Abbitt Wilkerson, hope it’s not lost!!

eBay Love

I’ve been on the lookout for camera equipment recently and have been fortunate to find a few things on good old eBay. One was a camera slider seen below wrapped professionally and with care by the seller!!! Can you believe that, it wasn’t damaged but I would have gone nuts if it was, as it happens I just pissed myself laughing.

Clio in Cumbria

My brother took a trip up to Cumbria to swap his 172 Clio Cup (great drivers car, despite being non-jap ;) ) for a 1.4 MG 25, bum deal you might say, but no, he got some money his way and lower insurance (so important these days) and I got this nice photo of a Clio in the Lake District out of the deal. The MG is for sale if anyone fancies it!!
